Il nostro obiettivo: comunità più forti per un impatto duraturo
Aagahi: vite illuminate

The Aagahi adult literacy program was launched in 2005 to promote community development. It targets illiterate women in rural areas and urban slums near TCF schools, offering them the opportunity to learn to read and write.
Classes run from January to April and from September to December. Over the course of four months, participants are introduced to mathematics and learn to read and write in Urdu, the official language of Pakistan. Four textbooks are used for the literacy program: three focus on phonetic-based sound recognition, and one covers elementary mathematics.
Learning simple, targeted reading and writing skills has a tremendous impact on the women in the community. Whether it’s being able to read the bus number at a busy stop, calculating change after a purchase, or writing a letter to loved ones, the gift of literacy transforms their lives.

Acqua potabile per comunità più sane

Water is essential to human survival. Every year in Pakistan, more than 50,000 children die from diarrhea caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation.
Since 2015, TCF and its partners have begun building filtration systems to improve the health of the communities surrounding its schools. The filtered water tanks installed on school grounds have two taps: one provides drinking water to young students, while the other is used by the community, which can draw water throughout the day. The goal
is to ensure good health and economic benefits for the communities we work in and reduce children’s absences by providing them with access to clean water.

Formazione professionale per l’indipendenza economica

TCF’s vocational training project provides women in the communities surrounding the schools with the skills needed to achieve economic independence.
The project, launched in 2015, is managed in collaboration with various organizations. Training centers have been established within the schools where qualified teachers conduct six-month courses specializing in two fields: Aesthetics and Cosmetics and Cutting, Sewing, and Embroidery.
Upon completion of the course, the students have all the skills and knowledge necessary to open a small business while remaining at home. The goal is to provide women with the support they need to lift themselves and their families above the poverty line and thus facilitate a lasting impact on the community.
